Hot Tips, Cool Resources

November 2019

Hi all,

It's the end of the month and so it's time for some Hot Tips & Cool Resources...but first...

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

I'd like to start this newsletter by acknowledging all the communities who are affected by drought and bushfires nee in Australia. It has been devastating to watch the news and see how many lives have been lost, and to know that many more have been significantly impacted by these events.

Here in my local community, we are certainly experiencing some extreme weather this early in summer. It's the driest it has been for more than 20 years, and there is no rain on the horizon, so things are likely to get worse before they get better.

I believe we are experiencing the early warning signs of our climate changing for the worse. Human behaviour is creating an environment that is unsustainable for human beings. This is kind of crazy. But there is still so much we can do, individually and collectively. We need to pull together, just as we do in times of crisis, and resolve this climate emergency.

With Christmas soon upon us, it is certainly time to remember that our choices, and what we purchase, has an impact of the fragile ecosystem we call home. Seek to shop sustainably. Choose to boycott the push for excessive consumerism. And choose to focus on creating quality time with your loved ones.

Let's create a groundswell of change away from mindless consumerism, and towards a sustainable and fulfilling future for us all.

May you be safe, well and happy in the lead up to the Festive Season.

Finally, I know that many people find this time of year hugely stressful. And so it seems timely to share my thoughts on how you can change your relationship with stress and eliminate all unnecessary stress from your life...
